British Accreditation Council (BAC)
The BAC was established in 1984 to provide a comprehensive quality assurance scheme for independent further and higher education in the UK. BAC is recognized the world over by students, agents, and government officials as the clearest mark of educational quality in the private sector. Alongside the British Council, the BAC has overseen the inspection of private post-16 education for over 30 years.
The BAC is committed to both encouraging the highest standards of education offered by independent colleges and providing prospective students with an invaluable guide to quality in an often complex sector. Their charitable status informs their efforts not merely to pass judgment on institutions, but also to nurture their attempts to raise standards and the quality of education for all.
International Approval and Registration Centre (IARC)
The British Academy Group is accredited by the International Approval and Registration Centre (IARC). The IARC is a not-for-profit association. The centre was founded in 1999 in response to the increasing globalization of world economies and societies and is currently managed by an elected committee of six education practitioners and industry professionals.
The IARC plays a role in ensuring our quality standards relating to course content, delivery, assessment and administration are maintained. IARC's role as an independent recognition association gives reassurance the Academy has undergone checks relevant to the post-secondary education industry in general terms.
National Union of Students (NUS)
The National Union of Students (NUS) is a voluntary membership organization that makes a real difference in the lives of students and its member students' unions. They are a confederation of 600 student unions, amounting to more than 95% of all higher and further education unions in the UK. Through their member students' unions, they represent the interests of more than seven million students. The NUS promotes, defends, and extends the rights of students and develops and champions strong student' unions.
